If you want to plan ahead, a advanced reservation at The Getty Villa in Malibu is a lovely Malibu Beach experience. The Getty is open 10am to 5pm Thursday thru Monday. The Hotel del Coronado is a Southern California destination that any beach lover should experience. The Hotel del Coronado, officially opened its doors to the public on February 19th, 1888. It's a legend resort where movies like, "Some Like It Hot" with Marilyn Monroe were filmed and The Wizard of Oz was written by L. Baum while on vacation at the Hotel del Coronado.
